Rapid Development of Scoped User Interfaces

چکیده
As the demand for domainand formalism-specific visual modelling environments grows, the need to rapidly construct complex User Interfaces (UIs) increases. In this paper, we propose a Multi-Paradigm Modelling (MPM) approach whereby structure, visual appearance and above all reactive behaviour of a UI are explicitly modelled. These models are constructed at the most appropriate level of abstraction, using the most appropriate modelling formalisms. This allows for rapid application synthesis, easy adaptation to changing requirements, and simplified maintenance. In this paper, we introduce Scoped User Interfaces, and illustrate how one may model them using Hierarchically-linked Statecharts (HlS). The use of HlS is demonstrated through the rapid development of a DChart formalism-specific modelling environment.

Lack of trust is one of the key bottle necks in e-commerce development. Nowadays many advanced technologies are trying to address the trust issues in e-commerce. One among them suggests using suitable user interfaces. This paper investigates the functionality and capabilities of 3D graphical user interfaces in regard to trust building in the customers of next generation of B2C e-commerce websit...
متن کاملSelecting and Extracting Effective Features of SSVEP-based Brain-Computer Interface
User interfaces are always one of the most important applied and study fields of information technology. The development and expansion of cognitive science studies and functionalization of its tools such as BCI1, as well as popularization of methods such as SSVEP2 to stimulate brain waves, have led to using these techniques every day, especially in appropriate solutions for physically and menta...
متن کاملRapid Prototyping of Adaptable User Interfaces
User Interface Adaptation has been proposed in recent years as a means to achieve personalized accessibility and usability of user interfaces. Related user interface architectures, as well as a variety of related development method and tools, have also been elaborated. Admittedly, however, despite the recognized validity of the approach, which has been proved in practice in a series of prototyp...
متن کاملThe notion of trajectory in graphical user interfaces
The Active Objects Model (AOM) as a model-based user interface development environment is presented. The paper highlights the convenience of the trajectory notion in the description of the structure and functionality of graphical user interfaces. The AOM model consists of a set of active agents with private rule based behaviours. Model entities involve topological information which define, thro...
متن کاملAn object-oriented UIMS for rapid prototyping
User interface management systems (UIMSs) that support rapid prototyping often suffer from the limited range of interfaces that they can produce and the lack of support for the connection between the produced interface and its underlying application. This paper discusses a Mode Development Environment (MoDE) that addresses these problems.
